Most of an LED mask's cost is the price you pay up front. Spread over 3 sessions a week, that comes to a few pence or a few pounds a session, depending on the mask and how long you keep it. The figures below use the lowest UK price we've checked, the same 3 sessions a week for every mask (156 a year), and one and three years of use.
Electricity is tiny. Masks charge by USB, which supplies at most about 10 watts, so even a long session's charge costs well under a penny. We work it out at 26.32p per kWh: the Ofgem energy price cap, average electricity unit rate for Direct Debit customers in England, Scotland and Wales, 1 October to 31 December 2026 (Ofgem). That's an upper limit, rounded up; your own tariff may differ. We update the rate when the price cap changes.
Other running costs to check: there are no bulbs or cartridges to replace, but almost every mask has a battery you can't replace, so battery life and the warranty set how long it lasts. One mask in the directory has a reported paid app tier (marked below). Some brands also sell gels or serums to use with their mask, so check whether the manual says you need them.
Cost per session is a price comparison, not a measure of value. It says nothing about how well a mask works. How we work it out.
The lowest price we've checked at a UK retailer, divided by 156 sessions (one year) and 468 (three years). Electricity: 10 W for the longest session the maker lists, at 26.32p per kWh, rounded up to the next 0.1p. Groups use the one-year figure. Amazon listings without a checked price don't count.
