LED Mask Transparency Report
How much do the companies behind LED face masks sold in the UK tell you? We checked the same 12 key facts, and more, for all 21 masks in our directory. Every figure on this page is counted from those records and updates when they change.
Data as of 1 Nov 2026. Researched by Richard P for Luma Index. This report measures what's published, not how well any mask works, and it doesn't rank brands.
What brands publish
For each mask we check whether the maker publishes these 12 facts. Basic product details are almost universal; information that lets you check a claim is much rarer.

| Wavelengths | 21 of 21 | 100% |
| Treatment time | 21 of 21 | 100% |
| Warranty | 21 of 21 | 100% |
| Returns policy | 21 of 21 | 100% |
| Who should not use it | 20 of 21 | 95% |
| LED count | 19 of 21 | 90% |
| Light output (irradiance) | 15 of 21 | 71% |
| User manual | 13 of 21 | 62% |
| Safety standards declared | 12 of 21 | 57% |
| UK company / contact | 12 of 21 | 57% |

How complete records are
How many of the 12 key facts each mask's maker publishes. The median is 9.
| Key facts published | Masks |
|---|---|
| 11 of 12 | 4 |
| 10 of 12 | 4 |
| 9 of 12 | 4 |
| 8 of 12 | 4 |
| 7 of 12 | 4 |
| 6 of 12 | 1 |
A high count means a mask is easier to compare, not that it's better or safer. Browse masks by key facts published.
Light and LED counts
- Light output: 15 of 21 publish an irradiance figure (mW/cm²); 5 say how it was measured (distance, instrument or where on the mask). Without that, figures can't be compared fairly. Why it matters
- Wavelength tolerances: only 14 of the 83 wavelength figures published (17%) come with a tolerance, such as "633 ± 10 nm".
- LED counts: 19 of 21 publish one, and for 6 the brand's sources or reviewers disagree, usually because some count chips and others count multi-chip packages.
| Light colour | Masks that include it |
|---|---|
| Red | 21 of 21 (100%) |
| Near-infrared | 20 of 21 (95%) |
| Deep near-infrared | 6 of 21 (29%) |
| Blue | 16 of 21 (76%) |
| Amber/yellow | 9 of 21 (43%) |
| Green | 5 of 21 (24%) |
Where sources disagree
20 of 21 masks have at least one fact where the brand's own pages, manual, regulatory filings or retailer listings say different things. These are the areas where that happens, counted by mask:
| Area | Masks with a disagreement |
|---|---|
| Wavelengths | 11 |
| Warranty or returns | 11 |
| Session length or modes | 10 |
| How often to use it | 10 |
| Design and what’s in the box | 10 |
| Safety warnings | 8 |
| Claims versus their sources | 7 |
| LED count | 6 |
| Light output or dose | 6 |
| Power, battery or charging | 6 |
| Regulatory status | 6 |
Each mask's page shows the detail next to the fact affected, marked "Sources differ".
Safety and regulation

| List the safety standards the mask meets | 12 of 21 (57%) |
| Say they meet the light-safety standard (IEC 62471) | 8 of 21 (38%) |

| Have a US FDA 510(k) clearance we confirmed in the FDA database | 7 of 21 (33%) |
Based on manuals, product pages and declarations we could read; "not found" can mean the information exists but isn't published online. In November 2025 the MHRA said no LED face masks were registered as medical devices in the UK. What these labels mean
Price, warranty and sessions
- Price: 20 of 21 masks have a checked UK price, from £80 to £694 (median £324). Prices change often; each mask's page shows when it was checked.
- Warranty: 21 of 21 publish one: 5 offer 12 months, 16 offer 24 months.
- Session length: from 3 to 30 minutes, as stated by the makers.
Method and limits
- What's included: LED face masks (including face-and-neck sets) sold to UK buyers that we've researched. It isn't every mask on the market; we add more over time.
- Sources: brand product pages, user manuals, declarations of conformity, regulator databases (such as the US FDA's), published studies and UK retailer listings. Each mask's page lists its sources and when they were read.
- Labels: every fact is marked as manufacturer-stated, independently verified, calculated, conflicting, not disclosed or not yet checked. See how we research.
- Limits: we don't measure masks, so light-output figures are the makers' claims. "Not published" means we couldn't find it, not that it doesn't exist. Records are reviewed by hand and may contain errors; please tell us.
- Not a ranking: publishing more information makes a mask easier to compare. It doesn't make it safer or more effective.
